Mission Statement

It is through our love and understanding of animals that Peaceful Mountain was formed.

Peaceful Mountain is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation dedicated in rescuing horses and ponies that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are unwanted.  We provide these horses/ponies with the veterinary needs, feed, and care they need, but we also provide them with the love, compassion, and attention some of them have never known.

Peaceful Mountain devotes as much time as needed to find an appropriate adopter for each and every horse/pony it has that is ready for adoption.  Each potential adopter and his/her facilities are pre-screened to ensure that the horse or pony will be well cared for by the adopter.  Peaceful Mountain requires that any adopter provide a veterinarian report and a picture of the horse or pony every six (6) months for five (5) years to ensure that the adopted horse/pony remain in excellent health.  If Peaceful Mountain determines that one of its adopted horses or ponies is not being properly cared for, Peaceful Mountain will bring that horse or pony back to its facility.  Any potential adopter that does not wish to abide by these requirements will not be able to adopt a horse/pony.  It is only through these requirements that Peaceful Mountain can ensure that any horse or pony it rescues and adopts is being cared for properly.  We refer to these requirements as the long-arm of rescuing.

Any horse/pony that comes to Peaceful Mountain and is not adoptable due to his/her injuries, etc., will have a home for life at Peaceful Mountain.
