ADOPTABLE HORSES AT OUR RESCUE
Feel free to look at our adoptable horses below, but please keep in mind that because we never want to see one of our horses ever needing to be rescued again, anyone that adopts one of our horses, will have to agree to the terms of our Adoption Agreement. (This is after you have submitted an adoption application for our review and approval.) One of the clauses in our Adoption Agreement is that every 6 months for 5 years after adoption you must submit a veterinarian certification,(we provide the form) which will certify that the horse is in good health and is being properly maintained. The Certification must include a picture of the horse with the date and vet's signature. If based on the vet cert and/or picture, (or our non-receipt of these items), we feel the horse is not being cared for properly we have the right to come see the horse with our own vet. If we and/or our vet feel that the horse's condition warrants it, we will take the horse back. We call this our "long-arm" of rescuing.
Because of these clauses, we limit the geographical area where our horses can be adopted to within 100 miles of New Jersey. We will and do make exceptions to this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
Some people may feel this is overburdensome, but if you could have seen the condition of some of our horses when we got him/her, and the work it took not only to bring him/her back to health but to earn their trust again in people, you would totally understand our position. We can't let these horses down; they become like kids to us.
EDDIE

Eddie is a thoroughbred gelding in his 20's - exact age unknown. Eddie is approximately 15.3 hands. He is in great health and has no bad vices. Eddie is a very good boy with great manners. He doesn’t bite or kick, and is wonderful with people and other horses. Eddie does have a bucking problem, therefore, he is unrideable but is a wonderful pasture mate.
Adoption fee - negotiable, but, our adoption requirements are not.
ADOPTABLE
BLACKIE

Blackie is an 18 year old dark bay quarter horse. Blackie is a big boy at over 16 hands but is a sweetheart. We refer to Blackie as our cowboy horse because he came from North Dakota. He was used on a PMU farm and his job was to herd the baby foals back to the barn. Unfortunately, Blackie cannot be ridden due to scarring on his back from having to wear a saddle that was too small. Although he cannot be ridden, Blackie would make a wonderful pasture mate. He is very intelligent and is good with horses and people.
Adoption fee - negotiable, but, our adoption requirements are not.
