ADOPTABLE HORSES AT OUR RESCUE

Feel free to look at our adoptable horses below, but please keep in mind that because we never want to see one of our horses ever needing to be rescued again, anyone that adopts one of our horses, will have to agree to the terms of our Adoption Agreement.  (This is after you have submitted an adoption application for our review and approval.)  One of the clauses in our Adoption Agreement is that every 6 months for 5 years after adoption you must submit a veterinarian certification,(we provide the form) which will certify that the horse is in good health and is being properly maintained.  The Certification must include a picture of the horse with the date and vet's signature.  If based on the vet cert and/or picture, (or our non-receipt of these items), we feel the horse is not being cared for properly we have the right to come see the horse with our own vet.  If we and/or our vet feel that the horse's condition warrants it, we will take the horse back.  We call this our "long-arm" of rescuing.

Because of these clauses, we limit the geographical area where our horses can be adopted to within 100 miles of New Jersey.  We will and do make exceptions to this requirement on a case-by-case basis.

Some people may feel this is overburdensome, but if you could have seen the condition of some of our horses when we got him/her, and the work it took not only to bring him/her back to health but to earn their trust again in people, you would totally understand our position.  We can't let these horses down; they become like kids to us.

ADOPTABLE

BLACKIE

Blackie is dark bay quarter horse.  He is about 22 years old. Blackie is a
big boy at 16 hands but is a sweetheart. We refer to Blackie as our
cowboy horse because he came from North Dakota. He was used on a PMU
farm and his job was to herd the baby foals back to the barn.
He is very
intelligent and is good with horses and people.

Blackie has a permanent back injury from being ridden with a saddle that was too small, therefore, Blackie cannot be ridden, but makes a wonderful pasture mate.

Blackie has been waiting several years now to find someone who wants to give him a great home and lots of love.  Although we realize most people want a rideable horse, if you only have one horse, then that horse is probably pretty lonely without another horse friend to hang around with.  Blackie would make any horse a great companion.  He is very mellow and has no vices.

Adoption fee - Negotiable.

KHAN

Ser Khan is a registered grey Arabian gelding.  He is adorable and one of the sweetest horses we have ever had.

We don’t think he has a mean bone in his body, although just like a typical Arabian, he is very strong-willed.

We don't know Khan's exact age, but we believe him to be approximately 28 years old.

Trying to keep weight on Khan is a big challenge, therefore, Khan is on a senior feed, which an adopter will need to keep him on.

Adoption fee - Negotiable.

SILVER

Silver is a 24 year old appaloosa mare that has a wonderful personality.  She does not like to be stall-kept, therefore, the ideal home for her will be one in which she will be able to spend most of her time in a pasture with a run-in shed.  Silver is an escape artist, therefore,  very secure fencing will be required.

Adoption fee - Negotiable.

VALENTINE

Valentine is a female pot-bellied pig who is about 4 years old.  We brought her to the rescue two (2) years ago along with some goats and sheep that we rescued from a home in central New Jersey whose owners could no longer afford to feed or care for them.  Unfortunately, these animals were given very little people attention and the bare minimum of care.

We are only looking for a good home for Valentine.  Our normal adoption requirements of a Vet Certification and picture every six (6) months for five (5) years will not apply to Valentine.  Our only requirements are that she be adopted within 50 miles of our rescue, preferably either New Jersey or eastern Pennsylvania.  A good home is a must, therefore, anyone interested in adopting Valentine, please send us an email with your name, address, telephone number, veterinarian's name, 3 references, and photos of your facility.  We may require a site visit before allowing Valentine to go to your home.

Valentine has been kept outside.  We will include with Valentine's adoption her igloo that she likes to sleep in as well as a pink baby pool that she loves to lay in during hot days (which you can see her standing in in the above picture.

Adoption fee    =  $50.00

GOATS

These 3 goats came into the rescue with Valentine two (2) years ago.  We rescued them from a home in central New Jersey whose owners could no longer afford to feed and care for them.  Unfortunately, these animals were given very little people attention and the bare minimum of care.  All 3 of them are males.  They are regular-sized goats.  Unfortunately, we do not know how old they are, but they are all friendly.

Our normal adoption requirements of a Vet Certification and picture every six (6) months for five (5) years will not apply to these goats.  Our only requirements are that they be adopted within 50 miles of our rescue, preferably either New Jersey or eastern Pennsylvania.  A good home is a must, therefore, anyone interested in adopting them, please send us an email with your name, address, telephone number, veterinarian's name, 3 references, and photos of your facility.  We may require a site visit before allowing these goats to go to your home.

Adoption fee    =  $50.00
